Cussler Museum

A friend and I made a trip to the Clive Cussler Museum in Arvada, CO. I have always loved vintage and antique autos.
Cussler, the famous writer, has a massive collection of antique automobiles.
First, the highlights.
Walking in, I was greeted by this familiar sight:

A 1958 Buick Limited.

My first car was a 1958 Buick Special 4-door. I bought it before I even had my driver's license. I restored the car and owned it for over 20 years. When I moved to Seattle in 1998, I sold it to a collector from Sweden. He'll take good care of it.
This beauty is very similar to my own, "The B-58" as I called it, with a couple of exceptions.
*This one is a convertible, mine was a hard-top.
*The convertible had the Continental Kit, mine did not.
*The chrome on the real quarter panels it different. Mine had more chrome.
Other than that, the color is the same, the GRILLE is the same!! and the tail fins are the same! Even down to the wide whitewall tires!!!

Dig that GRILLE!!! Exactly like my own!

What a great car! It sure brought back memories.

Now, the other highlight.
My personal "Holy Grail" of automobiles: The 1936 Auburn Boattail Speedster:

A wider view of one of the museum's 'antique' display rooms:

A selection of beautiful hood ornaments:

The classic of classics, the Stanley Steamer:

This Packard had a beautiful matching trailer with the most beautiful custom interior I have seen:

This 1932 Auburn Boattail Speedster had gorgeous lines:

Other delightful displays:

I loved these two early '20s Mercedes roadsters. There is unsurpassed beauty and elegance in their functional design.

And a neat little guy parked at the entrance:

What a day!!! What a trip!!! I look forward to going back.

Ironwood Rain song samples posted!!!

My new band, Ironwood Rain, just finished recording three demo songs to post on our website.
We had a blast! It went very smoothly, and a huge thanks to Brenden and Fro, who graciously invited us to their studio to cut the tracks.
I got my first chance to put my new guitar, Samantha, through her paces in the studio, and I am pleased with the results.
I am pleased with the blend of the talents of the members of this band.
Go to:
and have a listen!

Also check our schedule on the home page, the gigs are stacking up....
